                   Snow hits BKK - 100 die
         The first time snow falls in Thailand, more than 100 people died of cold

            Bangkok – The sudden drop in temperature without reasons last night caused snow over Bangkok and the deaths of more than 1oo people       

 A local staff reported on September 25, 2012 at 2:30 am, the temperature has dropped rapidly for no reasons over Bangkok. It was around -10 degrees Celsius which never happened before in Thailand, so it caused snow softly about one hour and 30 minutes later, the temperature has returned to normal for no reason as well.

The Medical Council of Thailand said this event resulted in the deaths of 113 people, both young and old people. For the primary cause of death, medical experts told the deads could not endure the cold but after this, the deads will be sent to the Central Institute of Forensic Science Thailand to prove the exact cause of death again.



    Youths arrested for robbing gold shop

 Bangkok - On Monday, police arrested a gang of youths who robbed 5 gold shops around  Bangkok in 4 days.

 Metropolitan Police Investigation Sub-Division 8 and  the police investigation, Prasanmitr Police Station arrested a gang of youths who robbed Jintana gold shop at Sukhumvit 21 branch. They got two youthsaccused, Mr. A (assumedname), 15 years, who caused trouble on 20 Sep at 03:20 PM

 Mr. A confessed that he collaborated with two friends robbing Jintana gold shop, so police requested court for a warrant to arrest the remaining two accused teens, Mr. B (assumed name), 16 years and Mr. C (assumed name), 16 years. Also, he confessed that he has worked with more 10 friends robbing 7 branches of Jintana gold shops around Bangkok - On Sep 21, 4:30 am at Asoke branch belonging to Asoke  police station, on Sep 23, 2:15 am at Sukhumvit 23 branch, on Sep 24, 2:00 am at Nana branch and then Lumpini branch at 4:20 am. 

Police said they have coordinated to the Provincial Police Bureau Region 4 to pursue the remaining robber for taking the proceedings.



FDA raid illegal fake
supplements

Bangkok - On Thursday, FDA raided the major factory that produced more than 100 million bath worth of illegal fake supplements and cosmetics.
Mr. Niphon Charoenphol, Commander of Crime about Consumer Protection, has announced the arrest of illegal dietary supplements and cosmetics that were worth 125 million and two hundred thousand bath. 
Since in the late September, the authorities have been notified from trader that there was a smuggler selling the illegal dietary supplements and cosmetics by impersonating a famous hospital for distribution to customers across the country. Police officers have checked until everything is clear, then they asked the court to approve a warrant to raid at House No.99/11 Gloden Doitung Village, Sukhumvit21 Road, Watthana, Bangkok.
On October 4, police officers have raided house as above and arrested 35-year-old Mr. Suchat Ponglertsilp, house's owner. They found that this home was the source of production and sale of healthcare products which smuggled from abroad. There are intravenous glutathione, diet pills and weight loss supplements that contain L-carnitine and Sibutramine.
“These products are advertised with exaggerated images or words.” Dr. Niwat Pongsom, Professor of FDA, said these products focus on reducing obesity, sexual enhancement and making skin whitening and most products are advertised through websites, all center, cable TV, radio, newspapers and magazines.”
“If you go to take service at any beauty clinics, please ask them first that drugs are legally registered by the FDA or not to get safe or good drug for your body.” Dr. Niwat said “Also, don’t believe any supplements that may have harmful drugs or ingredients because they can cause Life - Threatening Falls.
“Therefore, if anyone see the production or distribution of illegal health products, you can complain to the FDA Hotline No. 1556 or every Provicial Health Office.



            SWU grad student wins lotto

        Bangkok - SWU graduate student, Nicha Boonsirinon won the 3 million Bath Thai Lottery last Friday after her boyfriend bought her a ticket from a blind man.

 This very lucky graduate student from Srinakarinwirot University is just only 22 years old but she got the big surprise of lifetime. She won the lottery that was worth 3 million Bath but she needed to pay taxes about 200 thousands Bath. The first thing she did after getting money that was giving some money for that blind man.

 Nicha said with a smile “Although, my boyfriend purchased the ticket, I chose the numbers myself; that was 242226 because these numbers are very important for me, 24 is my birthday, 22 is my 1st brother’s birthday, and 26 is my 2nd brother’s birthday.

Nicha never thought to win the lottery. “I don’t like to gamble but my boyfriend, he always bought a lottery ticket whenever I dream or I say something about number,” She gives credit to her boyfriend.

           Nicha plans to buy a new house for her family. With the remaining money, they will be kept for further study in the USA. She dreams of studying and travelling abroad with her family when she has a lot of money. She also said “The best part of this surprise is getting to use the money to see what I want to see in the world.”



          Muslim student shot dead

Bangkok - A Muslim student of Chulalongkorn University was shot dead in front of his friends at True coffee café on Thursday morning.
A group of Muslim six students were resting in True coffee café for a break after finishing their tests. The killer approached and about a minute later, he pulled a gun out and shot one of the students at the head in front of his friends.
Police said a university student who was shot dead at True coffee café would be the victim of a Anti-Muslim group. The victim, aged about 21 years was taken to hospital but was dead later.
We confirm that the man was killed in True café is a 21-year-old student, who was studying civil engineer.” Ajarn Suchada Binyusob, Head of Engineering Faculty said
“This looks like an unreasonable attack and we have no a motive at this time” Mr. Pairat Wong, divisional commander for Bangkok, said “We are in the early stages of the investigation, so first we need to investigate every possible aspect as we can.”
